The covenant that enslaves our generation
THE COVENANT THAT ENSLAVES OUR GENERATION.
A story was told in Joshua 9:1-the end about how a particular tribe went into agreement with the Isrealites to save their generation from being wasted from war. The story in Joshua 9 is a very sad one indeed! How an entire generation was mortgaged and subjected into a covenant that was contrary against their will because of fear. Sometimes our fathers mortgage our lives to one covenant or the other. For instance, some families because of the fear of war took idols and went into covenant with them. In some cases the details of the covenant are not known by the men that went into it. It is only the effect to the child we see, just like the story in Joshua 9. When they agreed to go into covenant with Israel they never knew that they are better ways to go about it but the way they went about it left them no choice or condition than to accept whatever is offered to them and they ended up making free born children in the land to become servants to be precise the fetchers of water and heawers of wood to the congregation of Israel all the days of their lives, Joshua 9:27.
This kind of story is still in existence in some of our families and individual lives. If you find yourself in this kind of situation/covenant God is able and ready to deliver you from all covenants you and your household have gone into. The bible says can the lawful captives be delivered even as a lawful captive the LORD will not only deliver but restore you. God can deliver you from the covenant you willing enter.
ACTION POINTS;
1) Prov 65 KJV"Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler
2) Oh LORD! have mercy on me and my generation.
3) Deliver me oh LORD! from the covenant that my parents have entered into on my behalf.
4) LORD forgive me and my household of every spirit of fear and ignorance.
5) LORD have mercy on my generation who has lost confidence in you by seeking for deliverance from men or gods.Forgive us oh Lord.
6) I acknowledge that it was an act of foolishness or wickedness . Our sins are before us. Forgive us oh LORD!
7) Let your eternal covenant of mercy rest upon my household and rewrite our story in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
8) Let the blood of Jesus cleanse us from every covenant that we have entered into in Jesus name.
