Fulfillment of God's prophecy: Gen 50 : 24-25.
Joseph believed in God's prophecy concerning his lineage knowing fully well that it will come to fulfillment. The children of Israel were living in luxury as at the time of the utterance of the above passage. He knew the place of prophecy over the promised land was far better than where they were and God in His mercy will take them to the promised land; even though this was not fulfilled in his own time.
Some might even say we have everything at our beck and call; would there be any better place than where we are? The promises of God are always better than what you think of in life because He sees ahead of time and there is no mistake in His arrangements.
A time came that God decided to take the Isrealites out of Egypt to the promised land- a land of fulfillment. They remembered to carry along with them the bones of Joseph as commanded who died several years before the fulfillment. The saddest part of this story is that the people who saw God's miracles in Egypt could neither make it nor their bones but the bones of a dead man entered into the promised land- Josh 24 : 32. We were not told where Judah, Simeon etc were buried but Joseph refused his bone to be in the land of Egypt; rather his bones entered the promised land, after several years' death.
This is an example to us in this adulterous generation. If only we can hold steadfast to the word of God as it is written; though it may tarry, wait for it. God cannot and will not lie! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. - Heb 13 : 8.
