Leaving the place of your covering

LEAVING THE PLACE OF YOUR COVERING Ruth chapter 1 tells us about how Naomi and Elimelech with their two sons Mahlon and Chilion left the land of Israel to sojourn in the land of Moab because of famine. Elimelech died in Moab and ten years later Mahlon and Chilion also died. Moab is a land inherited by Lot generation which means, " of his father ", or " a son of Lot by his eldest daughter ". Naomi and Elimelech did not make enquiries about the land of Moab; whether she eats her inhabitants therefore; and they dwelled there. In the course of time Mahlon meaning "sick" died and the brother Chilion meaning, "waste" and death came and wasted him and Naomi was left with her two daughters-in-law. She heard that the Lord had given them bread by taking away famine; so she decided to return back to the land of Israel. The people in the city were moved by the story they heard of her and called her by name Naomi meaning, " my delight" or " pleasant ". Naomi rejected that name and asked them to call her " Mara " saying that Lord has dealt with her bitterly that she left the land full and was brought back empty. But this is not true. Why will you sojourn in a land that you don't know what the land signify? Why will you give names to your children that are capable of wasting them? If you follow the story carefully you will be convinced that land of Moab is the land that eats the inhabitants thereof. In our day to day lives, we attribute our mistakes / failure to one thing or the other and refuse to accept responsibilities. Naomi was a victim of this. I do not know where you are or what is facing you today. It is never too late: God can rewrite your wrong for good .Acknowledge Him and retrace your step. That God who showed mercy to Naomi can still show you mercy. Remember that names play vital roles in our lives.The names of the two sons were not subjected to survive the environment they found themselves in .Be careful of the name you bear and what you profess on a daily basis. It has a significance in our lives. ACTION POINTS. 1) LORD open my eyes to see things the way they ought to be. 2 ) LORD let me not be moved by the circumstances around me. 3 ) LORD give me wisdom and understanding to handle situations around me. 4 ) Give me the grace to retrieve on time when thing are going contrary to your plan in my life. 5 ) LORD give me the grace to acknowledge my wrong at any point in time no matter the circumstances around me . 6 ) Oh LORD let the covenant of " return" rest upon my head and household to enable my investment to return. 7 ) LORD by the covenant of return; every journey of capacity I have embarked on; give me the grace to return in Jesus' name.
