WHAT CAN YOU SEE???
Most times, what you imagine is
different from what you see around you. Abraham got riches and honor from the
Lord and was happy that Lot was with him. He had a different thing in mind.
Only suddenly to find out one day that his men and Lot’s men were striving with
one another. He was depressed and disappointed over the whole issue, Lot ended
up departing from him but within him, he would have preferred Lot to stay. In
Genesis 13:15 the Lord came to Abraham and said, ”What can you see? I have
given you as far as you can see”
Sometimes, in this journey of life, you think
big. Every time you imagine yourself being big and great; the things around you
can never make it work. The people you communicate with, see as your mentors,
what you hear from them; depresses and kills your morale. Nobody around you
reasons the way you do and at this point, it is difficult for them to either
encourage or guide you. There is something in you that keeps telling you that
things you’re imagining can’t work, God has an answer for it. All you need do
at this point in time is to stop listening to people that will give you one
hundred and one reasons why that thing cannot succeed, but listen to the spirit
within you telling you that it is possible. For the fact that others failed
doing what you want to do; does not mean you cannot succeed. For instance,
there is a tribe in Nigeria that believes that when a man made it through a
profession, others will want their children to go through the same process,
which may end up taking them out of their destinies making them become
vagabonds in another man’s vineyard.
If you are into a profession
that you derive joy, think about developing it. It is worth doing. Things you
do not delight in cannot make ends meet. Improve in what you delight in and do
not be discouraged. This is where you need God to see you through. He knows and
cannot deceive you. Make Him your number one vision partner. He will carry and
see you through.
Job was in trouble and his friends came
to him. Instead of encouraging him, the words coming out of their mouths was
killing Job more than what he was facing. Job concluded in calling them
miserable comforters. May you not find yourself in Job’s trouble.
ACTION POINTS: Say these prayers.
1) Lord
deliver me from vision-killers and mockers.
2) Lord
send forth your word that I can find joy and rest.
3) Lord
send forth your word that you may encourage me.
4) Lord
be my source of hope and encouragement.
5) Strengthen
every weak aspects of my life in Jesus’ name.
6) Lord
give the grace to see positive things around me and cause me to advance in
Jesus’ name.
